Things that have caused my Charge 5 to crash

Hi all! First time poster, long time Charge fan. Well, I was, but over the past few months (conveniently the months heading towards Christmas), my fully charged, frequently rebooted, updated and cleaned Charge has died for the most absurd reasons on my wrist. So here’s a list of things I’ve noticed happened just prior to a shut down, and I’d love to know what kills your Charge, too. 🙂

* I started to do knee lifts

* My heart rate spiked because of stress

* My heart rate went up because I was walking a little faster than usual

* I tried to use the ECG

* I coughed

* I sneezed

* Napping

* I put it on before drying my hair (it stays active if I wait to put it on after)

* I walked down a flight of stairs

* I was weighing out small things in a repetitive fashion for my otherwise very physical job

* I fell asleep???

The list of things that seem to cause crashes is growing, and they’re basically making this product unusable for any sort of accurate tracking. But hey, it’s two years old, and the 6s are on special, so I guess it’s to be expected..?

I would hope it would work for more than 2 years. I have had nothing but trouble with my 5. Hope you have better luck with your 6.

Thanks, but looking at all the problems other folks are also having, and that apparently most fitbits are only averaging 2 years of use, I’m probably going to look at another brand. A tracker should at least outlive your phone! 😅

Agreed, a lot of money over time to keep replacing. Unfortunately I will
probably go the same route. Good luck

Agreed. I don't use 80%-90% of the features (I got this from my insurance company so I didn't have a choice), so I want those 2-3 Things I use to work for me. My first Charge 5 lasted about 11 months before it bricked. I'm on month 9 with my second and it's acting up (hopefully it's easily solvable).

Can't believe you are considering another Fit Bit.  I certainly won't when mine packs up
