Thoughts about Charge 5 Hook and Loop band

Has anyone gotten the Hook and Loop band and tried swimming or showering with it? I am wondering how quickly it dries, etc. before purchasing one.

I have this type of band for other Fitbit devices. (Love them!) Since they are woven, I do not recommend swimming or or showering with it. I got one of mine wet once and it took a long time to dry. Maybe someone else here can comment on their experience.

How also have folks attached it? I have seen it both ways. With the shorter clasp on both the top and bottom.

I bought it from fitbit and I'd say it'd dry relatively fast if you soak it with a dry towel. I ended up returning mine though as the velcro on it worn out super fast. The band ends up coming off really easily in just two weeks of usage. Would not recommend getting it.

Hello again, @Harrisburger - I ordered that band and it came in. I really like it. It’s very comfortable but …

  • It’s fabric, not woven as I had mentioned in my earlier post. Because it’s fabric, I would definitely NOT wear it swimming. Among other things, I’m concerned that the color would fade in a chlorine pool or after being exposed to soap.
  • The short end goes on the bottom. This allows you to easily adjust the band on your wrist.
  • I was not able to easily connect it backwards. That could be why some are saying the band pops off. (Because it’s connector wrong.) But one thing to keep in mind since the photos in the Fitbit Store do not show it, is that  the Velcro will show.

I still like it. It’s probably the most comfortable band I’ve ever worn.

Not so happy with the unused velcro showing also. If one is lucky with wrist size that could be avoided maybe. With my wrist size of 16,9 cm the large band would have been perfect I think. Went for the smaller band instead. Also a cool feature of this band since so slim in design is that when you turn the wrist to watch the device, it sneaks out way more easily than with any other Fitbit band I've used while wearing long sleeves, wind jackets, etc.

Bit late but if anyone sees this hopefully it will help! I am on my second hook and look strap (the second one sent for free by Fitbit after a complaint) and the Velcro doesn’t last very long at all. I’ve only had my 2nd strap 2 weeks and I can already feel it is not sticking as well.

I don’t get my band wet, don’t wear it for showering and I change to the silicone band for swimming.
Shame they don’t do the regular woven band like on the sense. No idea why they only sell certain bands for certain watches, it’s a ridiculous idea.

I got mine from Fitbit for free since the originally purchased Infinity band had this tendency to gnaw my skin due to its design I think. I've been super happy with theHook and Loop replacement band, but now after 4-5 months of use, it has kind of deteriorated somehow (see picture). No problem with the velcro not holding though. And I wore it 24/7 in a pretty rough manual labor environment.
