Hi,

When I swipe to use the stop watch or timer on my fitbit charge 5, it just jumps to the timer screen.

is there a fix

On the Timer screen, note the little up arrow at the bottom;  swipe up from that to get to stopwatch; vice versa from stopwatch to timer.

Also note that little arrow on other screens, meaning more options when swipe up (or down).

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
