Too sensitive to active minutes Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello, I just upgraded my Inspire HR to  Charge 5. Today is day 5 of wearing it. I am sitting on a chair in my living room watching the news, drinking coffee and using my tablet. Suddenly i have 22 active minutes! Not very active.

I am righthanded and wear it on my left hand. I set it to my dominant hand because when i walk the dogs, i keep the leashes on my right hand. This worked well for my old Inspire.

Is there anything I can do to dial down the sensitivity?

Welcome to the Community forums, @Psparks

Thank you for sharing that you've been having this inconvenience with the new Charge 5.

Let me know if you're referring to the Active Zone minutes, this device in particular should track active zone minutes instead of active minutes. You earn these minutes for time spent in the fat burn, cardio, or peak heart-rate zones. You can find more information about this here

In the meantime, I recommend that you try restarting the device again using the three pulse restart method mentioned here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

I'll be around.

Yes, I mean active zone minutes. How is this determined? My resting heartrate is in the 60s so its hard to believe I had an elevated heartrate sitting in a chair doing very little.

Is there a way to adjust the criteria for active minutes?

I will do a reset as suggested and monitor the active zone minutes.

Just tried the reset but my charger has no button on it.

Hello @Psparks

The button is at the USB end.  Here’s a picture:

I hope that helps a bit.

@Psparks Thank you for your reply.

The Active Zone Minutes are based on your device with heart-pumping activity throughout the day. You can find more information about this metric here as well. Let me know if you're able to complete the restart procedure using the charging cable.

In addition, please follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading.

I'll be around.
