Where do I go from here??  I’m being offered 50% off a new device BUT I can’t use the discount towards a Charge 6, it looks like my only options are Sense 2 or Versa 4.  Are both devices actually(truly) water resistant…do I have to put water lock on before entering the water…ridiculous…in saying this both times I had water lock on…without even starting to swim both devices died instantly…in waist deep water… I’ve been with Fitbit since it started, now I’m thinking is there any point in buying a new device? If I know 1 year from now it’ll die in waist deep sea water?
Which Fitbit can withstand a snorkeling adventure without dying?

This is coming from someone who snorkels.  The issue is the type of water itself.  The salt in the salt water is corrosive so it won't matter how much you use it if it's only water resistant.  You need a waterproof watch, and yes, there is a difference:

Water resistant means that the watch is protected up to a certain depth, waterproof means that it can withstand any amount of water.

Fitbit doesn't make a waterproof watch, they are only water resistant.  There are companies out there that make waterproof watches, which will cost you about $14-$200 depending on which features you want.

Thank you for your response! Much appreciated.  Ok, good to know, I’ll have to take it off, if I do go with the Fitbit! I guess my old charge 3 was the best one even though it wasn’t waterproof, as I was able to snorkel with it for hours!
can I ask between the charge 6, versa, sense… which one would recommend?

Hi @SunsetRunner - in addition to what @DramaQueenDiva many watches resist water, though some have poorer seals than others, and the seals do deteriorate over time.

While the watch is under warranty it can be replaced but if water is getting in it would be advisable to stop using it in water before the end of warranty, just in case, to be sure that it lasts.
