Can’t get an answer. I have a pacemaker implanted in my chest. Does anyone or Fitbit know if a Charge 5 will have any adverse affect on the pacemaker?

Interesting that nobody from Fitbit has answered in nearly six months. I just had a pacemaker implanted this past Wednesday (3/8/23). None of my medical team said anything about my Charge 5, which I was wearing when admitted. They did have me remove it during the procedure. I believe your Fitbit's HR measurement capability is passive and, therefore, shouldn't affect your pacemaker or heart, but I'm unclear on whether or not the pacemaker interferes with my device's ECG readings. Hope this helps.

Hello @rickladd and welcome to the Community.  The only Fitbit products that have a medical device warning are the Aria and Aria 2 scales.  They send an electrical current through you.  There is a section in the ECG app Physician's Guide that says a pacemaker is a reason why a user will get an inconclusive reading.

Please double check with you cardiologist about your pacemaker and household magnets.  The charging cable has a magnetic connection.
