Using wrist weights with Charge 5

My device is a Charge 5 and my workouts are HIIT.  I use cuff weights on my wrists.  My weights start with weighted gloves and progress up my forearms nearly to my elbow.  When I begin a workout, things progress nicely through warm up.  As moves intensify, I suspect a weight puts pressure on my Charge 5 and it pauses tracking my workout.  After finishing a 40-minute session, I will review my progress and may find a workout time of 9:19 or 12:37.  I don’t want to stop mid-workout to re-start my Charge 5.  I tried wearing my Charge 5 nearer my elbow to avoid the weights.  I tried using sweat bands to create a dam to prevent the pressure of the weights on my Charge 5.  I tried covering my Charge 5 with a heavy sweat band.  I tried moving my Charge 5 to my bra.  None of these work-arounds gave me success.  My goal was to have my Charge 5 support my workout rather than to modify my workout to support the Charge 5.  I called support, they had no suggestions I had not already pursued. 

 

I welcome any suggestions other users have.
