I have been having a weird experience with my charge 5. It started when I would go to the beach and the screen would glitch and go white. But then it would go back to normal. At the time, I thought it was overheating.
I recently went camping and I was in a lake. It was very hot and my Fitbit was underwater for a while. As we were driving back to our campsite, I noticed it had a white screen, but this time it would not go way. It was still tracking steps and registering with app, and I tried to change the clock screen to see it that would help. So far, it's still showing a blank screen.
When we got back from the camping trip, I immediately tried restarting it using the charger, but the screen is still white. This morning, I washed it with soap and fresh water and put it in rice. Maybe there could still be lake water that got inside the device.
I guess I just want to see if there is anything else I am missing and if anyone has experienced this before. This is the second Fitbit that has gone out on me. My first one was a charge 4 and it overheated in the charging port and refused to start. And now this one. Both I have had for less than a year, consecutively. The charge 5 I got as a gift for Christmas last year because on charge 4 wouldn't start. I am starting to think there is a pattern with these watches.

Putting it in rice doesn't work. If you have silica gel, use that.
Regardless, contact customer support. They'll either replace it under warranty or confirm that it's bricked, so you can move on.

Same here, but mine was conveniently one month past being covered by warranty. This is two that have broken in a year and a half, and I don’t plan on risking a third.
