Why cant I have Charge 4 and Charge 5 on my account at the same time?

I have many fitbits: One, Charge 2, Charge 4 and now Charge 5

For the first time the fitbit app made me replace my Charge 4 with the new 5 (it also got very confused when adding the device and I ended up having to put the Charge 4 inside a metal box to stop it interfering). But the app very clearly makes you replace one with the other if you try to add it.

I like to have both available so I can switch and leave one charging without losing steps

Because fitbit hasn't setup the App store to allow this.
