I just took the new Charge 5 out of the box this week. I have to mess with the watch hitting like 20 times before I can get the water lock to come on or unlock. I had the old charge and it didn’t fail me for 3 years… and I didn’t have to do anything to it before I went into the shower or pool. So why is this so tough? I just was going into the shower and hit it and hit it and decided just to take it off. I bought it specifically for water aerobics class.
Then try to find support… this is what happens when you get too big. I have had fit bit for years…. Never was frustrated always good service…. Hope you are going to come through here!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Loleo.
Thanks for the details shared in your post about your experience with the Charge 5.
I understand how you are feeling and appreciate your feedback. The team is always working to improve products and services, and your comments are always appreciated.
It can feel a bit hard to do it at the beginning, but it’s supposed to be a bit difficult so you can’t turn it on and off accidentally. Let's try the following: to turn off water lock, firmly double-tap the middle of the screen with your finger. If you don't see "Unlocked" appear on screen, try tapping harder in the middle of the screen.
It took me a little while to get used to it, but you eventually find the best way to tap on the screen to lock or unlock. I recommend that you practice for a few minutes using the instructions mentioned earlier, as this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar.
Have a great day.
