Why is the Charge 5 counting so many more calories than I burned?

I previously owned the charge 4, and when I went on hikes, the calories burned were 2000+ but now the charge 5 counts that I burned more than 4000+ calories. Please help, very unsatisfied.

Hi, @SunsetRunner, welcome, the problem you report is unusual. I have a number of Fitbit devices and find the calorie burn is fairly consistent. FYG I swim 3,000 metres a day in 90 minutes and burn 700 calories. Charge 5 replicates this result. Your walks must be quite substantial, is the same distance covered in the same total time with a similar step count and producing this differentiation? Is the personal data entered in your Fitbit app unchanged (weight/Height etc) How accurate are Fitbit devices? provides a general overview of accuracy, note the comment about wrist placement. If you continue to note this disparity I suggest you talk to "Customer Support" here, use the chat facility or phone for a prompt response.

Cheers
