Why is there no firmware displayed for my Charge 5?

I have had so many issues with my less than a year old Charge 5.  The issue is the display, the screen flickers, goes whitish grey then black.  If I was prone to seizures his would give me one!!  I ordered a new one with arrived today.  The new one says there is a new firmware so I have tried a number of times to download that with no luck.  This is what I see from my account.  No firmware version as you can see.

Both my old and new devices are showing up in paring.  How do I tell which is the old and which is the new?  Neither will SYNC.  I have tried all the things that  Fitbit says to try to no avail!

I have tried ‘forget this device’ for one of the paired Charge 5’s hoping that the sync will work, no luck!  

both fitbits are working, the original ones display is hooped but it records stats. 

Any ideas?  This is driving me nuts!!

@ljstewar Welcome back to the Fitbit community!

Concerning your issue, I'd suggest to uninstall the Fitbit app from your phone and start all over. While doing so, make sure that your old defective Charge 5 is out of Bluetooth reach with the new device being nearby.
