Will I lose data with new Charge 5?

If I install the fitbit 5 and uninstall my Fitbit 4, will I lose the existing data on my app, or will it just continue seemlessly and continue to track data as usual?

@SunsetRunner Your data is synced to your Fitbit account.  As long as you don't create a new Fitbit account all your data will remain in the app and in the cloud.  It's a very easy process.  I've had multiple Fitbits and never lost any data when switching between devices.  🙂

You really do not need to, nor want to remove the Charge 4 when switching trackers.

Through the fitbit app perform the setup of the Charge 5, you will see a warning that the 4 will be removed. Hit continue. The fitbit app will perform one last sync of the Charge 4. Then the setup of the 5 will begin, afterwords an initial sync of the 5 and you will see the same stats that was on the Charge 4.

Now setup notifications.

If things haven't changed, I've noticed that if the setup of the new tracker fails, the old tracker does not get removed.
