Will there be a Charge 6 any time soon?

The Charge 5 shipped 18 months ago.  My Charge 4 is currently barely hanging on (cracked screen, watch band barely holding together), but... it lasts 2 -3 weeks on a charge. Tracks sleep and HR perfectly, links to my Peloton devices. It's great.

I've been waiting for the Charge 6...  shouldn't it be announced soon?  By August 2023, it will have been 2 years since the introduction of the Charge 5, time for a refresh.

I'm so glad to hear that your Charge 2, 3, and 4's are still kicking. I receive a Charge 5 replacement for my defective Charge 3. It lasted only 14 months. Based on what I'm reading, I'm not sure I want to sty with Fitbit.

Fitbit is very hush, hush about new product releases.  Every now and then, some images get leaked and we see them on sites like 9to5google and TechAdvisor.  Fitbit's announcement miraculously appears in short order.  Generally, we don't know until Fitbit makes an announcement.

So, i want to say, i don't think this is a bug as much as an incorrect integer. i mean, a patch that made watches start using all their energy in 4-5 hours (which killed the battery) would line right up with the watches that last normally 6-7 days being artificially lowered to only last 4-5 days. And if given enough time before a new watch release would almost guarantee everyone did the firmware patch and which would push sales for the hardware whos battery last 6-7 days again. 

I have no proof of anything, but as a person learning how to code that is also jaded vs greedy companies, i can see this trying to be slipped in undetected and them being just completely silent and not pushing a new firmware patch that fixes it kind of locks in that view. Of course google could also be doing this to try to soft kill fitbit in order to up pixel watch sales.

I just cant see a reason why the patch hasn't been fixed or rolled back without it being to up future sales of fitbit or to kill fitbit to make pixel watches more successful. The problem being that if pixel watch isnt hugely successful, even after killing fitbit, Google will just kill that product in a few years also and more people will just move to other brands than keep using one from the company that had these issues in the first place.

My charge 5 lasted 18 months and died. I am back using my old charge 4 that is still going. I just am not a fan of not being able to see time in sunlight. 
I started looking at other brands. I held out in hopes of the charge 6 so far still nothing. Not holding my breathe since google bought it. 
time for a change

yeah, in my view the only real improvement in the charge 5 over the 4 is that I can read the screen. Everything else is either useless to me (EDA, ECG) or worse (no altimeter, performance of GPS)

I have had Charge 2-3-4-5 now I'm waiting Charge 6 to leave my charge 5 to my girl-partner (don't know ho to say in english) but if Ch6 is no planned to be release I don't know what to do.

I have had 3 Charge5 because the first two the battery is dead and support changed devices two time.

My partner want charge 5 but I've fear to buy new device for her and have in home 2 same charge5 with these problems you mention.

I have to leave my charge5 to her and buy a new one but what? Wait for Cherge6 o  switch to other brand: the function I want absolutely is HRV 😞

With all the bad luck on all of the devices, including the last 2 that I had and died. I would not trust anything Fitbit produces in the future…

I really hope the Charge 6 (if it happens) has a significantly improved battery life. My priority is the sleep monitoring and the Charge 4 battery would easily last more than 7 days; that meant I could get in the habit of charging it at weekends and always have sleep monitored.

The Charge 5 with its 4 to 5 day battery life meant you couldn’t always charge it on the same day of the week, so I never bought one (don’t need colour screen either).

I don’t want a full smart watch as I still like to wear a traditional analogue watch, so the tracker is always on my other wrist!

Just to let you know, my Charge 5 battery lasts 6-7 days. I suspect the Charge 6 will have a similar battery life. 

Google will have its next Pixel hardware/Made by Google event on October 4,2023. They have already "leaked" the Pixel 8 phones and Pixel Watch 2. If they were going to release any new Fitbits, like the Charge 6, I'm thinking it would likely be on the same day since Fitbits are now Made By Google products. 

Just a few more weeks before we know for sure.

Exactly, which means you can’t be sure it will last long enough that you can always charge it on the same day of the week.

My Charge 4 has never lasted less than 7 days so I can always put it on charge on a Sunday morning and know it will last at least until the following Sunday.

I believed the reviews when they said the Charge 5 was the best on the market, but I am not at all enthusiastic about a Charge 6 awash with new features (to go wrong) when they can't even fix the myriad of problems with the Charge 5. So, pardon me if I can't get excited by some influencer who is paid to 'leak' news (that he was fed) as a pre-announcement build up to the event...

The Charge series of fitness trackers are the right size, shape, feel, look, and features for me and I hope a Charge 6 is coming, and hope we are not going to be forced to watches. If watches are where this is going then Samsung here I come.
