Hi. After checking that the Charge 5 is "water resistant up to 50 meters", I felt safe taking my charge 5 into the shower. Not only did I not submerge the thing, but water barely touched it. I noticed that it had died after I dried off. No green lights on the back, and an unresponsive face. After 30 minutes, I was able to restart it using the charger. However, the battery goes from 100% to 0% in fewer than 20 minutes. When it is on, it is unresponsive to swiping up/down so all I can see and use is the home clock face.
I called the support line. A man guided me through some steps and ultimately sent me an e-mail containing a 35% discount code towards purchase of a new Fitbit device. It is barely over a year old. Why was I sold something that is allegedly "waterproof up to 50 meters" and then after it was destroyed by a few drops of water on dry land, offered some piddling discount? Isn't that false advertisement?
