I just upgraded from the Inspire HR to the Charge 5 because it has a GPS and I wanted to use my Fitbit to track mileage for runs/walks. However, when I go to an activity [for example, today's walk], I only see the same stats I had on my Inspire HR: steps, calories, HR--not the miles covered during the activity.
I see mileage totals for the day, so I assume the GPS is active, but I am specifically looking for mileage on the activities. Is there a way to see that or did I not get the right device for what I need?

I havea similar issue. When I go for a bike ride my Charge 5 records my heart rate etc. but does not track my route. My Charge 4 did. Is there a setting to change?

update: after wearing the Charge 5 for a week there a couple of runs that tracked mileage, but the majority of my runs/walks are still just tracking steps, HR, etc. like the Inspire I used to have.
How can I get my Charge 5 to record mileage for activities? That is why I upgraded.

Are you manually starting your run recording, or letting fitbit decide?
Is GPS enabled?
Auto detected exercises usually do not show distance.
Manually started exercises will show a distance, based on GPS (if available) otherwise the distance is based on step count.
