my Charge 5 vs Leafs hockey puck - which is more useful?

Right now, it's the Leafs hockey puck.

My Charge 5 was working great yesterday. Take my son for weekly swim, water lock my fitbit as per usual. my fitbit died at some point during swim. Very odd - I'm usually really good with keeping it charged and staying on top of that. It came back on while charging and I put it on before I went to bed. Woke up this morning and again, it was dead. In fact, it died so quickly that it didn't even register me sleeping at all.

Again, threw it on the charger and again it powered back up. It was charging from zero. that's twice in less than 12 hours that the battery completely drained. I put it on for the drive to daycare and back. It went from 80% to 40% in less than 20 minutes. I have gone through multiple troubleshooting steps. I put it on the charger, it won't restart. I press the USB cable button 3 times, it starts up. It stays on long enough for me to try to 'restart' it, it powers off but won't restart. Press the cable button 3 times again...I'm trying to keep it on long enough to change the clock face because I read that for some people that helps. It won't stay on long enough to download the new face. I have tried this numerous times... I am at my wits end. $250 for a piece of junk that I've had for just over a year now (OFC it's just over a year...of course!!) This is my 2nd fitbit. My first one died like this 3 years in, now this one a year in...never buying another one and will be actively telling others to invest their money elsewhere.

I just went through a lengthy chat conversation with support. they were able to help my fitbit get turned on (finally) but the battery drained down to 75% in the less than half hour we were chatting. I was advised to change the clock face and remove spO2 app. all these steps were done but there was no more help. I was told to sync and charge once the battery gets down to critical level and after a full charge it still continues to do this, then to contact support again 🙄

Mine stopped working this morning at about 11:15 ET. I was in my water aerobics class. It is stuck looping between the Logo and a blank screen.

I tried the troubleshooting idea from the other folks in this forum and nothing worked.  I do not want to unpair it as I read from other posts, once this is done, it can't be repaired because Bluetooth cannot see it. I am now waiting for the battery to die and see if charging it again with work.
