very inaccurate HR reading in charge5 vs charge4

hi,

i have been using fitbit charge4 for over 2 years and never had any issues. its hr tracker/monitor has been very reliable and consistent. i recently moved to charge5 last week but charge5 is very very inaccurate for hr tracker/monitor.

i have restarted/updated/cleaned/updated the fitbit app/firmware on my charge5, but the hr tracker still remains inaccurate.

as an experiment, during the same treadmill workout session, i wore my old charge4 on the dominant hand and the new charge5 on the non-dominant hand (and sync'd the devices to different phones). i wore both devices 2 fingers above wrist bone (as recommended by fitbit).

the results are as follows (please see attachments below) -

charge5 is inconsistent in tracking the HR and drops the reading very often

charge4 is able to consistently track the HR during the entire workout session

as a result - charge4 had different hr/peak/cardio/zone mins tracking compared to charge5 - which totally defeats the purpose of using the new charge5 tracker!!!

so fitbit - my questions -

1) what is the workaround for this inaccuracy for charge5?

2) please recommend some workaround other than - restart device/app/update firmware/wear snugly/wear 2 fingers above wristbone etc. I have tried all these recommendations and charge5 continues to be very inconsistent compared to charge4!!!

3) if this issue continues, then there is no point upgrading to charge5. so what is the remedy here? is there any return/moneyback policy on this device (in case i ordered it from amazon etc.)?

charge5 hr tracking has been a disappointment. so please let me know what the next steps should be!

thanks ...
