I got my Fitbit Charge 5 a week ago, everything was recording correctly. But today I completed 2 walks - the first walk recorded as Elliptical - how do I fix? The second walk didn't record at all -- why not?

Sad to hear that your Charge 5 isn't working properly. As it sometimes works wonders, I'd suggest to restart your device following these instructions:
1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds to see if the Fitbit logo appears.
