watch band comes off/won't stay attached

I have a charge 3 that i've had for two years now.  I'm on my third watch band but have always had problems with it occasionally coming disconnected from the watch.  It's gotten worse recently.  I anyone with a charge 5 having the same experience?  I'm hoping an upgrade to a charge 5 would eliminate this problem for me.
