Allow us to select which Charge 6 exercises should use GPS

The list of exercises that have gps enabled is not a long one, golf for example does not use gps, nor does bootcamp, why?? With the golf example it’s super handy to see where you have been relative to the course in order to identify swing trends.  My suggestion would be to modify the app to allow us to choose if WE want to use gps for an exercise when we start it rather than deciding for us what should and shouldn’t use it.

Hello @Woodsta4

That sounds like a good feature request to add to the Product Feedback forum (<-- click link). I understand the development team monitors this forum for future features.

Under each individual exercise setting, you can choose if you want gps active or not. However this works only for exercises that have the option for GPS.

I think you really are asking for more exercises to have the option to enable GPS

@Rich_Laue he's asking for ALL exercises to have this option like ie. on Garmins.

@Woodsta4  I don't use a Charge 6, but as a long time user, I can say that GPS has been available for golf on every model I used.  Can you double check the Golf setting?  @Triletics You post in this forum.  Can you double check?  If it is missing, then I think it's an issue that should be flagged for an urgent fix.  With respect to shortcuts like Bootcamp, it looks like Fitbit chose to include GPS for activities that cover significant distance.  If you want to see GPS added for other activities, then start or vote for an existing request in the Product Feedback forum, like @RiekoC suggested.

@Triletics i realize that, however the OP didn't realize where to look.

BTW there are some exercises that will not not benefit from gps, treadmill, weights, spinning, any stationary or indoor exercise. About 23 out of 41 exercises on the Pixel watch 2 would not benefit having gps

Given that there is no 'rowing' exercise but my charge 6 autodetects on the water rowing as a 'rowing machine', it'd actually be a useful workaround to be able to turn on gps for rowing machine even though this apparently makes no sense at all !
