Anybody NOT have issues with the Charge 6?

I ordered a Charge 6 despite reading that people have an issue with it crashing and requiring hard resets, etc. Well, it also happened to me. After it happened multiple times the first week, I’m getting a replacement and returning the defective one.

Is anybody actually happy with the 6??? (I have heart issues and want the ECG without too many bells and whistles, which is why I keep going with these).

I’m just about done with Fitbit after almost ten years. Most recently, my Charge 5 suddenly died for good, so I went back to use my original Versa which was totally normal for two days then also suddenly died.

O no. Electronics & batteries can be a weird combination. See my lengthy response of this date, 8-3-25 to a post with similar problems. When you go thru multiple units it’s more likely to be a problem on your end rather than the FitBit charge 6. It would be totally irregular to have 4 fitbits from different batches and times develope the same problems when 100s or thousands of them are working just fine.
It would be to FitBits benefit to take the broken charge 6s back and diagnose the problem. It would help you & them. Especially if they can easily make an adjustment in their design. It’s a matter of connecting the dots and having a really inquisitive person on their R&D team. Good luck.

I'm so frustrated with my charge 6. Tried swimming with it and it worked for a few hours afterwards and had now shut down. Blank screen and have tried the restarting method a hundred times to no avail. It has crashed before and suddenly come back to life but not this time. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you do the swim lock thing? Sorry, it escapes me at moment but there is a procedure if you are going to get it wet. You have to close something so it doesn’t get wet & then later open it. The Charge 6 is not water proof unless you do it. Sounds like it got wet and if it did, is most likely done for, dead. Contact tech support to see if there is any hope to retrieve it.

A Chara,

Thanks for the reply!
Yes I know about the lock feature and I made sure to do that. As soon as I
finished the swim I double tapped the screen and lo and behold the Charge 6
burst into life again! I was so overjoyed! I swim regularly but this was
the first time I had dared to use an electonic device in the water. All
seemed well but later that evening it just died. The screen went black. The
device had been fully charged so I was concerned. I've tried all the
advised methods of restarting to no avail..the 3 times press, the haptic
button press.

I've also tried uninstalling Fitbit app but now I can't reinstall as
Bluetooth can't pick it up.

I loved the Charge 6. I loved everything about it and I especially the
sleep data information and the workout data. I'm reluctant to criticize the
Charge 6 as it has worked so well for me.

Anything you can do do bring it back to life I would appreciate greatly.

Many Thanks,
Mai

No choice, until Fitbit wakes up and has a new dependable model you need to find an alternative. I went through 3 charge 6 and finally used my old charge 4 until it too quit. I now am using an Amazfit. Working ok and actually has a little more but I still miss my Fitbit and will try it again when they have a new model.

Can’t  bring back the dead. I too loved my charge 6 but the 3rd time I gave up. Until Fitbit decides to listen and fix their problem find an alternative tracker. When they do I’ll be the first to give them a try

I have had nothing but trouble with my Charge 6 for months now. It started
barely six months after I bought it. I’ve spent hours trying to get
customer support but none of their solutions work. The battery barely lasts
12 hours unless you turn off all the features I bought it for. I resent
paying for FitBit Premium and getting such poor results. I have been a
faithful Fitbit user for many years and this is the worst model ever. I
wish they would hurry up and fix all the problems and issue Charge 7. I’m
thinking of resurrecting my Charge 5 at the moment because my Charge 6 is
so bad.

I wonder, has anyone tried wearing it looser? My arm sweats. I’m constantly wiping under it and clean the parts that touch my skin at least once a day. That’s just shot in the dark, but wet is wet regardless of how. Because of that I would recommend a fabric band or a band than doesn’t irritate or make your wrist sweat. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that issue come up here. I don’t have a problem with it picking up info. Several times a day I find myself pushing it up higher on my wrist, especially if washing my hands. I do tighten it a notch at night and it gets my sleep okay. Even if I nap during day (I’m 77) isn’t s problem. It picks it up.
My first charge 6 lasted only 6 months or so. I assumed it was “water proof” like the others and got it wet. They replaced it and told me do not get it wet, just like a watch. I won’t even try using the swim lock, don’t trust it. I think every problem is wet sweat or condensation. And you cannot wear any lotions or powder or dust on your arm near the charge 6. It’s worth a try if you get another. O, and don’t get hair spray, spray deodorant or cooking spray on it or your arm near it. Slip a sweat band on over top of it when in dusty, dirty or slobbering puppy dog visits or changing dusty kitty litter.
Don’t expect tech solutions to tell you any of that. It’s not a fault of the charge. It’s environmental conditions that you simply adjust to as needed.
