I want to buy this as it is the smallest device that supports GPS and HR.
But I've used Charge 4 and 5 before. They both had issues staying connected to GPS.
It would drop out in the middle of a run
Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same on the Charge 6

@benite02 I've been using Charge 6 since almost release day.
GPS:
Worst I have ever seen. I have not been able to get built-in GPS work so I could have one complete route mapped. It either doesn't connect at all or connects just to disconnect shortly after and never reconnects again. 'Dynamic' mode shows similar behaviour. 'Phone' mode is the only one that provides (not always) a GPS route. That fails often due to BT connectivity that breaks between the watch and the phone but it's the best option that Charge 6 offers. In other words, if GPS is important Charge 6 is a very wrong choice. Built-in/dynamic modes are useless, 'phone' mode works but with poor stability.
HR:
HR in general seems to be alright except for one use-case I see it failing big time - running. Then, it often picks up my running cadence as HR (so I see 190bpm-200bpm readings but this is an equivalent of cadence, real HR is a lot lower). Otherwise, it's not too bad and surprisingly reads HR quite well during swimming (when swimming is auto-detected, then the HR sensor isn't disabled so Charge 6 continues reading HR).
Because running is my main activity (need GPS and HR working during running), I'd say Charge 6 is the worst Fitbit I've ever owned.

All the time. I've not managed to get either the watch itself or the link to the phone from the watch to record longer than about 15 minutes into the walk. I've resorted to using Strava or Relive Live on my phone. I did nick my son-in-law's gtx file from his Garmin the other day to do my Relive videos from our two walks in the Cotswolds - otherwise I'd have no record of two great walks - if it can't record in the Cotswolds it isn't much good to me. Reconsidering my step counter ...

My Charge 6 rarely completes an activity.
I start a ride on my watch. Begin peddling. Ride a couple of hours.
I finish the ride. I end the activity on my Fitbit.
Minutes later, my Strava app notification pops up on my phone, and it says I rode 3km.
I check Strava, and I see that my tracking conked out shortly after I left home.
This is annoying: I'm logging all these micro-rides on Strava, despite the fact that I'm putting in some real mileage.
When I check my Fitbit app, its no surprise: Fitbit only tracked the first 3km and automatically terminated my movement there.
So Fitbit thinks that I rode for 2 hours and only travelled 3km. Totally wrong.
It's driving me nuts.
Rebooting my watch doesn't help.
What the hell is happening? This is a new watch!

I got my Fitbit a week ago Sunday. On my run yesterday it stopped my run for no apparent reason. I wondered if this related to it dropping the GPS. I am not that bothered about tracking runs was more a curiosity. What I probably found more annoying was the constant messages when running that would vibrate. My previous huawai band would orally tell me every KM what my stats were for data purposes this was better and did not generate these low value pointless messages. I found the vibrating my wrist to say well down and heart speed up just random noise a little annoying, but I suppose some people like that

I wouldn’t recommend you buying anything. It has constant problems with syncing. Frustrating af!

Thanks for asking this. I have also had charge 4's and 5's and struggled with the GPS (to put it mildly). My Charge 4 would work in dynamic or on-board GPS, but did have problems dropping from time to time. My Charge 5 was similar for a short period of time, but after a few months stopped working altogether. The phone GPS works, but it means I have to run with my phone--the entire reason I upgraded to the charge 4 in the first place was so that I wouldn't need to take my phone when exercising to track my movement (especially outdoor sports).
From the comments, it sounds like the Charge 6 GPS is useless just like my Charge 5 and neither as good as the old Charge 4.
