App is connected to new charge 6 but screen is still telling me to download the app

I went through the steps to set up my new charge 6 in the app. The App is recognizing the device. I can tell based on the shown battery power and that the app shows charge 6 instead of my old 5. Even though the app is connected. The device itself is still showing me a screen to download the app.

Hi, @Churchmg , in that case I would recommend going through the set up process again, as clearly something isn’t quite right.  It’s basically the same step as used to be recommended for setting up your Fitbit as a “replacement device” (for instance if you received a new one through a warranty claim).

I would recommend making sure your new Charge 6 is well charged and next to the phone or tablet you are using for set up.  Ideally make sure other Bluetooth devices, especially old phones and old Fitbits are well out of range (more than 30 feet away).

Log into your app and from the opening screen click on the icon top left (smart phone and watch icon).  On the next screen scroll down to the bottom and choose Set up a device.  From the drop down list choose Charge 6.  If your Charge 6 already appears on your list (as you have indicated) you will get a message asking if you want to replace it.  Confirm that you do and watch your Charge 6 so that you see the 4 digit code that will link your Fitbit to the app.

If you have any difficulties during the set up, please be sure to consult the help article on how to set up your Fitbit .

Hopefully this time it will be all set up and your new Charge 6 will be up and running.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the Community Forums!

I had this problem too. I needed to open the phone app and update the charge 6 for the screen to work.
