Attempting to update my Charge 6 caused the display to be blank.

When the Charge 6 asked to be updated, I was excited until the attempt failed several times.  Afterwards, the screen display was black and would not display anything.  I have restarted the device many times.  Sometimes I can see the fitbit logo.  Occasionally, I can see the charge level, but not consistently or often.  The device appears to continue to count steps but I have to check my phone (Samsung S24 Ultra) to find the information out.  I don't want to unlink the Charge 6 because I can't see the numbers on the device to reconnect it.  The Charge 6 is almost 2 years old.

Please try the following steps: 

Sync the device in the Fitbit app.

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap Devices.
  2. Choose your Charge 6.
  3. Tap Sync Now.

Charge your Charge 6.

Double-check the connection: Ensure secure connection to the charging cable and that the cable is plugged into a working USB port (computer or UL-certified wall charger).

Restart your Charge 6. How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Change the clock face. How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

I am usually able to sync the Charge 6 to the fitbit app on my phone.  Sometimes I need to restart my phone before that works.  When it does sync, I can see the charge levels on the phone.  Charging is not the problem.  I have restarted the device many times. I assume that when I see briefly the fitbit logo, the device has been restarted. I have just now changed the clock face in the app on my phone.  I still have a black screen.

The fitbit has recovered from its blank screen.  It might have been changing the clock face, but it took about 24 hours after I changed it to become usable again.
