Auto stride setting on Charge 6

My husband and I have same Fitbit Charge 6 and Fitbit app on our phones.  His app allows him to set his walk stride automatically but mine does not.   We found that when we walked the same path, his calculated different.   How can I get the auto setting for walking stride?

I appreciate your message, and I'm sorry to hear about this situation regarding the stride length.

May I suggest yo to read and follow the steps explained here? Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

I read all the forums but none of them explain why my husband’s Fitbit settings allow him to calculate stride automatically. I am worried that my attempt at estimating my stride length is affecting my walking results.

Hi @Robinwillbefit and welcome back to the forums.

Thank you for your message and for the additional information provided, and I am grateful for your readings.

Typically, the app will calculate your stride length based on your personal information, such as your height. In that sense, you might want to verify that all your personal information is correctly filled out within the app. How do I change my birthdate, sex, height, or weight? (Maybe your husband's information is complete, while yours might be missing something).

Once you have verified that your personal information is complete in the application, you can, for example, choose to have your stride calculated automatically via web access.

The proper steps are shown here:  Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account? (I suggest changing the stride settings through your Fitbit settings page at fitbit.com).

I have done all of this, but it doesn’t explain why my husbands app/account/settings ask him “if he wants the stride set automatically” and mine does not?
