Calorie data when not using watch

I haven’t been wearing my charge 6 for about 3 days but it keeps saying that I’ve burnt 823 calories - despite never having worn it. This doesn’t not reset to zero when I do put it on. So it highly inaccurate and not a true representation of calories burnt daily. I’ve tested this for 3 months and it’s always around 800 calories burnt rather than being zero.

Hello @Allercon and welcome to the Community.  Your Fitbit app will give you credit for your BMR calories, even if you weren't wearing your Fitbit.  This feature goes all the way back to the start, when a Fitbit was just a digital pedometer and users logged the most basic activities.

Hi @Allercon ! Warm welcome to the forums.

I appreciate your message regarding the calories count.

As @LZeeW said, Fitbit devices combine your basal metabolic rate (BMR)—the rate at which you burn calories at rest to maintain vital body functions (including breathing, blood circulation, and heartbeat)—and your activity data to estimate your calories burned.

Your BMR is based on the physical data you entered in to your Fitbit account (height, weight, sex, and age) and accounts for at least half the calories you burn in a day.

You can find more information about it here : How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
