Can I turn off my Charge 6?

ANSWERED

Unlike many other smartwatches, it is not possible to turn-off the Charge 6, see THIS ARTICLE.

If you don’t use (and don’t charge) your Charge 6 for a prolonged period of time, the battery will drain until a critical level, at which the Charge 6 will turn-off automatically. If you store the Charge 6 in this condition for a prolonged period of time, the battery of the Charge 6 will die for sure (“deep discharge”).

So here's my question: Is there a way to turn off the Charge 6 anyway? I’m thinking of ‘hidden menus’, ‘service menus’, or ‘hidden key combinations’.

(If I’m not mistaken, the Charge 6 comes charged and turned-off on arrival/in-the-box, so I assume there must be a way to turn it off, but it looks like Fitbit doesn’t want us to know).

Welcome to the forums, @SunsetRunner.

Thanks for your research, and the details you've provided. Before anything else, I'd like to clarify that when purchasing a new Fitbit device, it may or may not have a charge. In some cases, the device will come uncharged. This is why we always recommend fully charging it prior to starting the setup process.

That being said, while other Fitbit devices have the option to turn them off, this isn't possible with the Charge 6. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. My best advice is to share this idea with our developers in the Product Feedback board so that they can take it into consideration for future product development.

Hello. Honestly, this is the only downside with Charge 6. I guess add a turn off button is no good with the device. They all digital now so why cant they add a turn off option to preserve the battery? We are still keeping ours but it shouldn’t be hard to add this feature.

my previous Huawei band also had no off switch. I would tend to think this may not be such an issue. I lost my Kindle in my house for a year it was not switched off. When found totally flat charged it up and has worked since. I suppose if hoped to keep forever then may be this would not be ideal but like a smart phone think only really built to last a few years. I have only had mine a month today. The straps falls off a lot. Twice today. The sleep tracker did not save in data in the watch for a lot of days. People say not that water proof and they break often. I would imagine it would break or be obsolete before the battery suffers complete failure. Battery wear is not my worry like when fell on floor will it break or will it fall off and be left on the road.

Hi there, @Edword@yur1 Welcome on board.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand how useful it'd be to have the option to switch your Charge 6 off and I'm sorry if this causes an inconvenience. While this isn't possible, I'd encourage you to vote for this idea requested in the Product Feedback board. This will allow us to keep tracking this request over time.

@Edword In case you have other issues with your Fitbit device, I'd suggest creating new threads to keep the forums organized and prevent any misunderstanding. You can also find our Support team contact info here.

I find it incredible that you cannot turn off a Fitbit 6. Please can you explain the reasoning behind this decision.  The product is good. I have a few issues with synchronising the watch and I would normally restart any device as a very last resort. ( as all IT departments tell you ) Now I understand that this last resort is not available.  Please tell us why- in detail. Many thanks.

Welcome to the community, @Navaid.

I understand your thoughts and thanks for your efforts. While there isn't an option to turn off the Charge 6, we do have steps to perform a restart which helps to refresh its performance without the loss of any activity data. You can find step-by-step instructions here.

If by any chance the issue persists, please start a separate thread to prevent any confusion, and so you can receive help from the community.
