Can't edit sleep log on charge 6

Hello community! I have a charge 6, and after the most recent update, can't edit my sleep log for last night, which was wildly incorrect. I have tried to edit on both my Android and PC, but it won't save what I enter. Although there is no sleep data showing on my dashboard for last night after I deleted it, it says what I am entering interferes with an existing sleep log.

I restarted my tracker. Checked Android and PC for updates.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello @dscsmbhh

Sorry to see that you're having issues editing your sleep log after the recent update. Also, thanks for letting us know what you've already tried.

I'm not sure if this will work, but it might be worth a try.  Try clearing the cache for the Fitbit app from the App Settings on your phone, then see if you can re-enter & save your sleep start & wake time.

I've noticed that it takes a bit of time for my Fitbit app to update my sleep data after I edit it. Maybe enough time has lapsed that the app will take your edits.

Thank you for your kind response. I cleared the cache and tried again, but
had the same issue. I'll see what the app says in the morning.

Hello @dscsmbhh

Thanks for letting me know that clearing the cache didn't work. I'm at a loss for another suggestion.

If I think of something else, I'll let you know. Hopefully, the app will show your correct sleep log in the morning.

I was able to edit last night's sleep log, so looks like the issue has been
fixed. Yay!

I have regularly had trouble editing sleep. It’s like rolling a dice … Will it update or not. Tried multiple times this morning. I was definitely in bed 3 hours earlier than stated. It is frustrating, for sure.

Same here. Some days I can save edits, some days I can't.

Hello @Wonderthoughts & @susan_runs

Thank you for letting us know that you have intermittent issues editing your sleep logs.

Would you please let us know what version of the Fitbit app you're using and if you're an Android or iOS user?

To find your Fitbit app version info, tap on your profile picture in the upper right of the Today page. Then tap on Help. You should be able to see your Fitbit app version on the Help page.

Hello @susan_runs & @Wonderthoughts

Thank you for providing the information.

I was hoping that the problem might be platform related, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Although I'm not sure that this will work, you can try clearing the storage for the Fitbit app on your phone. Force quit the app, then re-open the app. You likely have to log back into the app after doing this.

Please let us know if this process helped so that you can edit your sleep log without having to do it multiple times.

I did the reset and now I don’t get the sleep score, stress score or readiness score for last two nights. I entered the sleep times manually and nothing there. I don’t know … Will see what tonight brings. Heart rate still works … I am not dead yet!

Hello @Wonderthoughts

That's very disappointing to see that you aren't getting a sleep score, stress score or readiness score after the reset. Glad to see that heart rate still works, though.

I'll be watching for your response to see if you start seeing scores again.

I am in the same boat. Tried all the solutions. Won't let me edit my sleep from last night. Says it exists but I deleted it as it was terribly off. Making me crazy that it no longer works

I know this sounds a little strange. But how do you clear the cash on your Fitbit phone app?

Hello @livelife76

I'm an Android user and can give you the steps on how to clear the cache on an Android device.

  • Tap on the Gear icon to open Settings on your phone
  • Scroll to Apps and tap to open
  • Scroll/find Fitbit and tap to open
  • Tap on Storage & cache to open
  • Tap on Clear cache.  FYI - If you tap on Clear storage, this will clear both data & cache. You will need to log back into the Fitbit app when you clear the storage

If you're an iOS/Apple user, this page (<-- click link) has the steps to follow.
