Can't pair charge 6

I upgraded  from charge 5 to charge 6. It won't  pair with Bluetooth.  Keeps saying  it needs an app. My phone and fitbit both have latest upgrades. Can't  get any notifications and won't  sync with aria air scale either

I have exactly the same issue. Bought the charge 6 for my sister for Christmas 2023 and it won't pair to her iPhone, we've both had several Fitbit's before without issues. My charge 6 is fine. Hers seems like an expensive mistake. Only just seen there are issues with the app. Feel so disappointed that an expensive present is still not working over 6 months later

Hey @judysp - My first idea would be to factory reset the device. Here is how you do it: 

  1. Keep scrolling down from the main clock screen until you get to the Settings app.
  2. In the Settings app, tap Device Info and then Clear User Data.
  3. Next, you will need to swipe up and hold the Hold 3 Sec button for three seconds before releasing.
  4. Your Fitbit Charge 6 will vibrate, and the Fitbit logo will be displayed on the screen. This indicates that your device has been reset, and all the data has been erased.

Yes seems to be a lot of people with the same issue since it changed from
Fitbit to google

  • I am having the same issues every week it’s very frustrating today the least. I’ve done everything it says to do. It just happened again.  Paid $165 for a piece of crap. My other Charge 3 and 4 had no issues.

Tried this and it didn’t work. Now I have a Charge 6 that keeps telling me to download the app. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and still won’t pair. I get an error that the watch is lock because it was reported stolen or under warranty replacement.

Since you're seeing an error message that the watch is locked, you should contact Support (<-- click link) to see if they can help you get the device unlocked so you can pair your Charge 6.

If you are trying to pair through your phones Bluetooth, you will get the message to use the App. Since the Charge 6 has a BTLE, all setup must be done through the Fitbit App

First I would restart charge 6 tracker, then uninstall Fitbit app then restart your phone/device. Now just download fibit app and add device like normal. I had similar issues with my charge 6 warranty replacement but I followed these steps and it worked on the second attempt. Make sure nothing is using your phone data/internet as that can cause problems setting up a tracker especially if it needs to download and update the tracker.

I’ve tried that multiple times with no luck. I called support and they told me the device had been reported stolen. I purchased it from eBay and the seller is no longer on eBay. Looks like I was the victim of a scam. Live and learn!

I would get a confirmation e-mail from Fitbit confirming the item was stolen Then go back to eBay with that information and demand a refund. You have nothing to lose in trying and if successful your money back.!!!

I had the same problem. Go into settings and click restart device. Ensure the Bluetooth is connected. This finally worked for me. Good luck.

I've tried everything except factory reset. My Fitbit 6 will not connect to Bluetooth. I've taken apps our put back in .. removed everything and re-added.  My firbit 6 is stuck on Fitbit icon. How do I do a factory reset if I can't get it off Icon screen ?

@Janetg73 what exactly have you tried? What errors messages have you encountered?

Here's what happened Saturday I woke up to a update on the fitbit app. But
it was in gray on top the app. Would not let me click on it. Then I noticed
my watch was stuck on the fitbit logo. So I did a restart with the plug in.
Restarted the watch, nothing changed only would load logo. App keeps
telling me Bluetooth not found. Took app out of my phone I have Samsung
Andriod newest model. Restarted phone ..put app back in. Still no change.
Removed phone and fit bit from app. Restarted phone again. Re-downloaded
fitbit app ..added phone to app.. tried to re-add my new fitbit 6 to app.
All I keep getting is Bluetooth not found. Watch will nit respond to App.

We had that. Never managed to sort it. Not been able to use. What a waste of money.
