I got my first fitbit today and have mostly been satisfied with the features (especially the ECG). I am also excited to go to sleep tonight and test out the tracking feature and smart awake alarm.
However, I am surprised that a product emphasizing outdoor fitness (as evidenced by the GPS functionality) lacks any kind of weather application. I am far from the first one to suggest this, as I have seen posts mentioning this issue from at least 2021 / 2022 in the forum.
Will there be a weather app (or persistent notification tied to a phone app like Accuweather on the notification screen) any time soon? This is the only thing that I think is holding the device back. I feel like the weather is such an obvious default app choice over some of the unnecessary features like Google Maps and YouTube Music.
It doesn't need to have a fancy UI, just plain text that says the current temperature and a clipart of sun/clouds/snow/rain/thunder would be a fantastic start!
Though if the developers are listening, here is my rough draft for the full-fledged app:
Now that Google owns fitbit, I think the weather API and UI used on Android phones and the search engine when you type "Weather" would be fantastic. Maybe one screen would be the current temp and the "feels like" value, along with a graphic of current conditions (like a sun or cloud). This screen could also include a small text like "rain starts in 30 minutes). Then another screen could be an hourly slide-through of temperature/chance of precipitation. The last screen could be something to scroll through for the weekly forecast.
Thanks!

This would be a question for Fitbit/Google, not the community of fitbit users.
I searched Product Feedback and found a request for Weather on the Charge 6.
