Cannot add card fibit google wallet with Charge 6 watch

This is the error message i get when trying to add my card onto my watch

Things of note are:

• My phone does not have an NFC chip, meaning my phone is incompatible with tap and pay, this might be the reason why this isn't working, but normally instead of showing the message above, it says along the lines of "Your phone doesn't have a NFC chip."
• I'm trying to add a Commbank debit card, this card is approved for Google Wallet and Fitbit Pay
• I have tried restarting my devices and clearing the cache and data on both the fitbit and google wallet app.
• The card im trying to add does work and I entered the details correctly.

Is anyone having the same issue and does anyone know a possible solution?

Google Wallet requires a device with NFC capabilities to use for payments.

I have the same problem. My bank is on the list. I called my bank. They accept contact payment. I have google wallet on my Samsung phone and it works great. I go to my charge 6, go thru all the steps and after it contacts my bank I get the above error message. Has anyone figured out how to make this work?   I would appreciate any help.
