Cannot pair Fitbit Charge 6 with phone

I also could not get my Charge 6 to turn on.  I tried all the suggestions mentioned in this forum.  I also must have reinstalled the app 6 or 7 times.  I finally called the helpline, and they were very helpful!

A software update should have loaded when I charged up the Fitbit the first time,  but didn't.  I tapped the battery indicator on the top left corner of the app and was prompted to start the update.   Everything is working!
