Cant Migrate to Google to Setup Charge 6

I'm currently running Android OS 8.0 and can't upgrade my phone.  I got a new Charge 6, but every time I go to set it up it tells me I need to migrate to google and I can either hit 'not now' and it closes out, or agree.  When I agree, the app crashes.  I tried uninstall/reinstall to no avail.  It also looks like Fitbit removed most of the function of the web browser login so I can't do it there.  Am i doomed to return this item and look at competitors?

According to the Fitbit Supported Devices page (<-- click link), Fitbit devices require Android OS 9 or higher. This is probably why you're having issues with the setup since your phone doesn't meet the Android OS requirements.
