ChRge 6 - Wont connect to Google Wallet

Just got the Charge 6 yesterday.  When I try and set up the Google Wallet feature, it starts the process - lets me log in, lets me set a 4 digit passcode, and then it goes to the “Connecting to Google Wallet- This may take a moment” screen.  It will not move past the screen no matter what I do and the progress bar just keeps running.  I have deleted everything (app, bluetooth profile, etc), restarted phone and reiinstalled everything and it still does it.  I tried another google account just to see and still the same result.  Verified I am on the latest version of both IOS and the Fitbit App.   I am able to log in to Google Wallet directly (ie not involving fitbit at all). I certainly appreciate anyone’s help.

Im experiencing the same issue. I have contacted the support team they told me they are aware of the issue and they might release new software update for this and for some other bug fixes soon.

Also same issue. Been told it could take an hour. I doubt it.

Just doing a “bump” to see if anyone has any additional info - is the issue confirmed to be with the latest version of the iOS Fitbit app?  My assumption is that the issue isn’t with the actual Charge 6 - the issue has to be with the iOS Fitbit app’s integration of Google Wallet.

Since I just got my Charge 6 yesterday, I am assuming that others that already have a Charge 6 and previous versions of the iOS Fitbit app, have been able to successfully integrate to Google Wallet.

My Charge 4 basically permanently parted company with the strap - I could have glued it all back together but ... So I only bought my Charge 6 in September. and the Google Wallet feature has never worked on my iPhone. Given the integration needed between Google, FitBit, FitBit Wallet - whatever that was - and Google Wallet it all appears to have been a bit of a mess.

Is there a common factor for all those folk who DO have Google Wallet working on their Charge 6 with the iOS FitBit app? I guess if something works for you then you're not going to be interested in these posts, but it would be nice to know.

Thanks for that. It looks like the latest version of the app is a problem. It would be nice to hear from anyone who has had Google Wallet working with a Charge 6 and an iPhone.

It would be nice to hear from someone that has this working AND hear from the Fitbit team (or a community person, with access to the development team).  Clearly this is a problem.  My experience with Fitbit is that there will be a lack of transparency, updates, etc.  If is super frustrating.

As an update, I received this email from Fitbit, but it does not solve my problem.  After trying this, it only gets me to the screen to be able to add a credit card but it doesn’t let me click on the button to actually add the credit card or get any further in the process than that (same as discussed by another user here).  In any event, I thought I would share.  I agree we need a real fix:

According to our team, please do try these few more steps on how to set up your Google pay wallet.

1. Forget the device from your Bluetooth phone settings.
2. Turn Bluetooth off.
3. Perform clear user data on your Charge 6 but please note that any data on the Fitbit device that was not sync will be lost.
To do so, Swipe down from the clock screen to find the Settings app. On your Fitbit device, open the Settings app then Device Info then Clear User Data.
4. Then turn on Bluetooth.
5. After that, set up the device as new.

Make sure to enable pin before try to add the card again.

Hey ho, just downloaded the latest FitBit update today (20001.202.94)(5 December 2023). Two steps forward, one step back. The add/manage your cards feature now appears, I verify by adding the CVC, but when it 'Contacts my bank' the message is 'Couldn't finish card setup ..'. I really don't want to do the desperate helpdesk advise 'delete and reset everything' which offers no improvement 😞

My iOS with Charge 6 Google Wallet works properly now

Thanks for letting us know that. A couple of questions of that's ok. I know on the list of banks, of which mine is one, it says "Your bank may not be available immediately. It may take a few days to enable your card.".

Did you go through any resets, or did the update just suddenly work for you?

I'm not going to ask for bank details 😉 but was it a Visa or a M<astercard?

Nice - I saw that the app updated and this morning, I got the two steps forward you mentioned.  My AMEX card showed in my wallet; before it was NOT showing - that is progress.  I can also select it and enter the CVC - more progress.  But I get the following msg:  “Something went wrong.  An unexpected error occurred, please try again later” - Not sure that is progress.

I can also use the “+ New credit or debit card option” (more progress), but haven’t attempted to add another card.

I called AMEX and explained the situation.  They suggested that I remove the card from my Charge 5, but were not certain that it would work.  So, I removed my Charge 6, added Charge 5 … the card doesn’t show up on my Charge 5 anymore (maybe because I switched from Fitbit account to Google account) … then on the website, I removed FitBit pay and removed the Charge 5 device.

A lot of work, that many may not be able to figure out.  Added my Charge 6 and the Wallet does have my AMEX card available, but of course it will not add to my Charge 6.  I will try to call AMEX again tomorrow.  Super frustrating.

When you say your Google Wallet works properly now, are you confirming that your Google Wallet shows your available cards AND you are able to add one (or a new one) to your Charge 6?  Are you able to say what type of card you added to your Charge 6 - i.e. Visa, MasterCard, AMEX.  Debit or Credit?

Sorry if the above are obvious questions, but trying to understand exactly where the problem is to (hopefully) help the Fitbit team get to a closer resolution.
