Charge 5 couldn't be recovered and Charge 6 not turning on

First fitbit (Charge 5) lasted just over a year, then developed the fitbit logo error, could not work around, fix or update.  Fitbit #2 (Charge 6) died suddenly and without warning.  Tried all the recommended fixes.  No joy.

I'm done with fitbit.  There are other options for less money.
