Charge 6 - Boxing hand wraps interfering with Smart Track?

ANSWERED

I'm wondering if using hand/wrist wraps over my Charge 6 for kickboxing is interfering with its ability to Smart Track activities.  I've also tried using the wraps on each side of the tracker, and not directly over it. Either way, my Charge is often not registering any activity, or registers only a few minutes of my 40 minute workout. I know I'm meeting the threshold for heart rate because I wear a separate heart rate monitor on my arm which registers to a display in the kickboxing studio so I can monitor how hard I'm working. For example, today my separate heart rate monitor reported that my average heart rate percentage was around 83% and I burned 382 calories. My Fitbit didn't register any exercise. I realize that I can manually track an exercise, but my hope was that this would be an automatic thing, one less thing to have to remember to do. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi @RE3, welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

I'm glad to help you tracking your kickboxing activity.

According to your description, i would not recommend to wear any wraps in your hands if you want to track your heart rate from your wrist. Neither over nor on each side of the device. I believe it's better to manually enter an activity with the data your separate heart rate monitor throws.

One thing worth trying is to turn off the heart rate tracking from your Charge 6. Your device may automatically track the activity and you can complement the data with your separate heart rate monitor.

For more information about how your device tracks your heart rate, please take a look at our help article How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?
