Has anyone gotten a ridiculous calorie count, which probably could only happen after running a marathon?
My fitbit says I burned 10k calories in one day. That’s impossible… I walked 6 miles. That would normally be something like 3k calories.
Probably the unreliable app has something to do with it. So many bugs added.

Hi @hotnwell, thanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well.
I'm glad to investigate the unusual number of Calories burned.
That's definitely an abnormal statistic. Did you log this activity manually? According to the graph you burned almost 1000 Calories per hour for around 8 hours. It's like running more than two marathons.
This being said, i believe the accelerometer registered activity before or after your activity and connected it with your actual walk. If you left your device over a place that could absorb some vibration from environment a similar behavior may be expected.
If you believe this is not the case, i recommend that you restart your device:
Your device has been tested against driving and riding in buses, trains, and other public transportation and shouldn’t add steps when you’re traveling under normal conditions. On bumpy roads or in a car with a stiff transmission your device may add some steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added when driving isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. If you want to remove the steps from your daily total, manually log the driving activity for the time you were in a vehicle. For more information, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
I hope this information will be useful for you to resolve this discrepancy. Happy new years eve!

Hi David,
There was nothing unusual about yesterday’s activities. I didn’t leave it anywhere (always wearing it). I didn’t drive during that time either. And there aren’t any other measurements that back up 10,000 calories. My impression is the watch itself is reliable.
Do you know if the engineers are looking into the corrupted historical data? A lot of people, including me, have complained about it.

Hi @hotnwell, thank you for your response.
In that case, i don't have an answer for this behavior. In your next walk, see if you are able to see you Calorie burn before syncing. This is to isolate the issue to the Charge 6 or to the Fitbit app. I appreciate your time in thos process.
In my opinion, the restart should normalize any discrepancy you may have had before.
In addition, our team is actively being fed by the community to see any trends.
Happy new year 2025!

Hi I have a simalar thing but mine is Zone minutes and calories. It records a high ammount of both when I'm literally doing nothing. Records roughly the same time each morning. I have reported it but all they do is request a copy of my warranty. It used to be fine until Google took over.
See photo where it states intense excercise I had just got on a bus, a flat road and 10 minute journey.
