The previous update took over 2 months, and a trip to a different country, to appear for me, so don't hold your breath.

Well, considering that the whole reason I have a charge 6 is because I was one of the hundreds and hundreds of people whose charge 5 was BRICKED BY AN UPDATE (I know y'all remember it happening - The forums were flooded with people whose charge 5 was bricked by the update, and no solution was ever given; we just had to buy new watches.) you'll understand why I am not thrilled to hear of another firmware update.

220.21 On the Fitbit Google page was updated for different devices not just the charge 6. it’s not clear to me, even with the problem posts (was it firmware?) whether or not this has been seen in the wild yet?

It's now been three weeks and as yet not one person here has received the update. There's no way to force the update, fitbit refuses to engage and share any kind of timeline. How long will people be waiting, because your assertion that the update would be "rolling out over the next couple of weeks" is obviously not true.

Still no update. Don't know if I want to even force it as I was "forced" to buy this after my Versa 3 just died. Less than impressed with this Charge 6 to say the least. Yesterday, I walked my dog for 45 minutes...it counted 154 steps. Not even close to remotely possible.

Hi everybody! Thank you for your messages, updates and feedback.
The update is still being delivered to all Charge 6 users.
If you haven't received it, we ask you for a bit of patience.
Do not remove or pair the Charge 6 from/to your account again, to force the update, as this doesn't help. This could lead for you to wait longer for the update.
Just keep the Fitbit app up to date, use the tracker as usual and sync it at least 1-2 times a day.
To update the Charge 6 please read this: How do I update my Fitbit device?
Should you encounter any difficulties during the update, I recommend you to have a look at this: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Hmm mine does a great job at tracking steps. It doesnt even seem to count steps in the car.
I still haven't gotten the update. I don't think anyone has gotten this update lol.

Still no update for me either. I must be a sucker for punishment to still hope my device will stop freezing after two hours of use with the new update. It must have developed a fault very earlier on. I bought two Fitbit trackers, a Charge 5 as a present, and the 6 for me. The 5 I am told still works reasonably well. My 6 is rubbish! But I've seen a nice replacement for £50 on the high street. I'll stop being a mug as I have waited for a proper update for a year now. Enough is enough.

I changed bracelets. I hated the rubber/plastic one that it came with. It gave me dermatitis. Amazon has better ones. I ordered a stainless steel mesh with a magnetic clasp. It holds the tracker closer to my wrist and I have noticed a huge improvement in BPM and cardio load values.
Also I clean the back of my tracker with rubbing alcohol every morning.

I have not received it either. That being said my Charge 6 is working fine so I'm thinking "Don't fix what ain't broke!". 🙂

I think I got the update but I believe it was backed out. 2 weeks ago my charge 6 stopped syncing and there was an update so I clicked to update. I still could not sync my data with my the app. 2 days later it just started syncing again, but the HR monitor was deactivated. I just found it off and turned it back on again. Really odd behavior that I have never experienced in the almost 2 years of ownership.

Really such a bummer that this is taking so long. Wish they wouldn't have announced it so early if it wasn't ready for primetime. Normally I wouldn't care, but the single screen dashboard with the momentum watch face is something that really should have come with device out of the box.

I think we get it, but the lack of any reference to the firmware anywhere on the Internet (and let's be clear, the Google page updated the same firmware for other devices too) just makes us think it is not being rolled out or was pulled back. OTA updates can take their time, but is it like 10 users a day?

It's not Google. This user-hostile update process has been in place long before Google acquired Fitbit. My fresh out of the box Charge 4 was unusable for an entire week because it was missing the latest update and therefore out of sync with the app. As we know, there is no way to check the update install process (Is it trying to update? Is it stuck? Nobody knows.), or to force it, so I was left to wait and see if it would eventually get it (or send it back before the return period expired).
As mentioned before, the 214.24 update, released on 20 January 2025, took roughly two months before it finally appeared on my Charge 6. (I know this because I was on vacation halfway across the globe when it finally popped up. Was it geoblocked before? Maybe. Again, nobody knows as there is no way to check the update progress.)

It's been a month and my Fitbit Charge 6 still hasn't updated. Is the update rolling out slower? Or maybe an issue we haven't been told about?

It’s going on 5 weeks since the firmware update was announced. When does my Charge 6 get it??
