Charge 6 - HRV 0

My HRV has typically been running in the 70s for months, now the last week it has been 0.  Is it broken?

Your condescending reply is not appreciated.

On top of the HRV 0 issue the device (toy) will not stay synced with my
Pixel 9 . At least once daily I have to restart the devices, uninstall the
app, ... It floors me that Google can't make devices that work together
reliably.

Hello @Tay3

The team is aware of the syncing issue with the Charge 6. I've seen a few users report that they no longer having syncing issues after installing the latest app update to version 4.57.

Which version of the Fitbit app do you have? To check:

  • Tap your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app.
  • Tap Help in the menu that opens
  • The Fitbit app version information will be on the Help page

By any chance, are you also having issues with heart rate tracking? Do you see a green light on the back of the Charge 6? The light is the optical heart rate sensor.

Are you having issues with any other health metrics that are usually tracked during sleep?

4.57 version, breathing rate and HRV are both zero. Heart rate is normal.
I've tried switching wrists, inside vs outside wrist, tighter vs looser
band. All to no avail.

Green light blinks intermittently. Sometimes consistently, sometimes goes
for more than a minute without blinking

Hello @Tay3

Thank you for taking the time to provide additional information.

You're on the latest version of the Fitbit app, 4.57, that just started rolling out. But you are still experiencing syncing issues after installing this update?

If so, please use the Feedback option to report this issue.

  • Tap your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap Feedback in the menu that opens. If you see Report issue in the menu, tap that instead.
  • Complete the prompts and submit

The Feedback and Issue reports are received by the team for review.

BTW, I've seen users report that clearing the cache, followed by Force Stop for the Fitbit app on the phone helps with the syncing issue.

It's concerning that you are not getting HRV and breathing rate info. I looked at the help page that includes info on HRV (<-- click), but there's no recommended troubleshooting. The help page on breathing rate (<-- click) also doesn't provide any recommended troubleshooting.

Although I'm not sure that this will help, you could try turning Heart rate off, then back on in the Settings tile of the Charge 6.

  • Swipe down from the clock face until you get to the Settings tile (last one) and tap
  • Swipe up to see Heart rate. Turn it off.
  • Restart the Charge 6.
  • Follow the above step and turn Heart rate back on

Something else that you could try is cleaning around the sensor on the back of your Charge 6. You can use a soft brush dampened with water to gently brush the area around the sensor and dry it with a soft cloth. This will remove any small amount of debris, lotion/soap residue that might be affecting the optical heart rate sensor.

If these suggestions don't work to restore your HRV and breathing rate readings, I'm not sure what else to suggest.
