Charge 6: How to disable exercise auto recognition?

ANSWERED

It's still auto-tracking walking even after I have disabled all exercise auto recognition in the app.  Any ideas?  Thanks

  • iOS version: 15.8
  • Fitbit app version: 4.04 (40445055)
  • Charge 6 firmware version: 66.20001.197.42

Hello @fibitLee and welcome to the Community.  The Charge 6 has an additional auto detection feature for three shortcuts: walk, run and bike.  Walk/Run/Bike Detect turns on the Exercise app when these activities are detected.  Please look for the following setting:

  • Open your Exercise App and choose Walk
  • Swipe up and look for Walk Detect
  • Toggle it off if it is on
  • Do the same for Run and Bike, if needed

@LZeeW This is wrong information. Even with the Exercise app deleted from the device, the auto-detect of walks still occurs on the Charge 6.

This is a bug. There are many threads about it, and it is always auto-detection of walks that never go away.

I'm having the same problem. Hopefully they will get it fixed. It drives me nuts that everytime I leave my desk, that stupid thing turns on, even though it's disabled in the app.

That didn't work for me.  It still turns on no matter what is unchecked in the app.

I’m having the same problem. Very annoying as the time display is not accessible once it automatically detects. Is this going to be fixed???

I hope so.  That is my gripe also.  I don't care about distance at all. I like to watch my heart rate, number of zone minutes, and seeing what time it is. Like you say, we can't do any of that.  Stinks!

This DOES NOT HELP!  When will this get fixed.  After 5 years of Fitbits, I'm ready to throw this one in the garbage and switch everything to Apple,
