On the old charges I’d go for a three mile walk and later in the day I’d look at my app and see the walk tracked in my exercise for the day, with heart rate info. Not sure if it also showed my gps track.
The charge 6 auto recognizes my walk but now requires me to confirm that I’m on a walk 7 or 8 minutes into the walk and then it auto recognizes the end of the walk 7 or 8 minutes late also requiring me to confirm.
I don’t want to have to hit a button to confirm anything about my walks, but I want the Fitbit to track them as they did in Charge 5. Is this a new “.feature” or am I doing it wrong?

Hello @RiverRunner24 and welcome to the Community. This is a new feature on the Charge 6. It’s called Walk Detect and it turns on the Exercise app. Please do the following to turn it off. Open your Exercise app, then choose Walk. Swipe up to go to the Walk settings. Look for Walk detect and toggle it off.
Run and Bike have this feature, too. You need to turn them off in both shortcuts.

Thank you. If I turn this off will still track my walks runs and swims without bothering me about confirming start or stop times?

@RiverRunner24 Yes, it will use the auto-recognition you are used to using (SmartTrack). This feature is on my Sense 2. I turned it off. I personally don’t use it. I track all my daily walks with SmartTrack.

Ok I’m not sure it worked. Just went on a walk and it vibrated a few times after the start of the walk. I ignored it. Then I came home 45 mins later and sat down. I saw that the watch had the walk stats on it (old Charge 5 just had the clock face on during walks). After five mins sitting down the watch vibrated and asked if I was done. I waited a few minutes and it didn’t auto stop so I pushed the done button. What the heck? I just want the Fitbit to track my walks (or runs, swims, elliptical) like the charge 5 with zero interaction from me. What gives?
I have to say whoever designed this change is a **ahem**. I loved the old Fitbit because it tracked my basic exercise and sleep with zero interaction from me. And now it is requiring all kinds of interaction from me. Idiots.

@RiverRunner24 Double check the walk settings and make sure the toggle stayed off. Also, please check the Run shortcut and toggle it off, too. A brisk walk might get detected as a run.
