My Charge 6 is not adding distance recorded as a bike exercise to the total distance for the day on the Fitbit App. I had GPS on the tracker set to dynamic and had my phone with me.
Can anyone help?

Hello @Samc2 and welcome to the Community. Fitbit only adds step based activities to your distance total. Likewise, swimming distance isn't added either.

Thanks for your response, I thought that may be the case. Sounds like something that should be addressed by Fitbit.
It seems ludicrous that if I take 20 steps to go to the bathroom it is counted as exercise but if I go for a 20km mountain bike ride it's not. Go figure.

Totally agree. It would be ideal to have the total amount and a breakdown of how you completed those km (like 3 km walking, 6 biking, etc)

Fitbit's earliest devices were all torso or wrist worn digital pedometers. Fitbit had its daily step and lifetime distance badges for about five years or so before adding any bike or swim tracking options. Fitbit made an intentional decision to keep daily mileage as step based distances.

They could make an intentional decision to change this approach then
