Charge 6 displays crossed-out phone symbol

Since an update of my Charge6 firmware, a symbol representing a crossed-out phone hides the heart rate on the watch. I read it means connexion with the phone is lost. It happens when the app is closed (iOS on iPhone), when the phone is on plane mode, or off, or too far. This update has not been an improvement to me.

It’s a nuisance because it hides the heart rate after a couple of seconds when checking the watch, and I use this feature multiple times a day even when no exercising. Most of the time it’s a useless information. Place the symbol elsewhere, or show it only when connexion is needed (exercice with GPS…), or have it optional.

The disconnect symbol doesn't bother me, it's the problem of not being about to connect my Fitbit to my phone.

I have IOS 18.3. The phone syncs when I open the app but I have the crossed out phone icon where my pulse info is.

Please read through this thread. There's a post that describes the workaround where you turn off the status tray on your device.

The workaround is efficient but note that the last step is not to turn off "Status Indicators", instead the Charge 6 names the setting "Status Tray" and shows it as a on/off toggle button. Turning that toggle button off fixes the issue

Hi. Has there been any progress on resolving this issue, because it’s a real pain? I don’t really want to switch off status indicators as for the most part they’re quite useful. 

Will a new firmware update be pushed with a resolution and if so, are there any timelines for the fix?

Fitbit replaced my device since it was still under warranty. Hopefully your
issue can be resolved, I know it's frustrating!

So far, from the.  point of view of an IT technician of long stead, work arounds are not proper solutions and having to go through 11 steps every 2 days is crap. We have two Fitbit Charges in the household, The Charge 5 paired to my partner Samsung phone is working at the moment and it is not a deal to get his phone an app disconnected to get my own Charge 6 working. I have a Pixel 8 Pro phone that overall works as it should. My problem started with latest firmware (66.20001.214.24). No other firmware is on offer at the moment. I hate having to factory reset the Fitbit as it loses a lot of data collected. What is the point of that? Better roll back the firmware update for everybody to the version that was working overall really well, no matter which time zone we moved to or from. A team that is owned by Google now and that cannot even make a basic device work. I had a few Chinese much cheaper trackers that worked like a charm and even the old Fitbits pre-Google worked PROPERLY. Google will not force me to buy Google watches. I much rather go back to the Chinese devices that just work as I don't care if they are spying on me as Google spies on us pretty much every day to no benefit to us at all. In resume: 

* Battery now does not last 2 days (prior to firmware it lasted sufficiently well)

* SP O2 no longer works

* Have to reinstall application and reconfigure the whole shebang every 2 days together with factory resetting the the tracker, otherwise the phone does not trigger all the necessary settings.

I have the same problem. And the most frustrating is the battery. Before the update it lasted a week, now not even 2 days. So that’s not acceptable. I hope there will be a solution soon.
