Hi. I just bought a Fitbit charge 6 one week ago. Everything was working fine. But since 2 days my Fitbit doesn’t track distance anymore. All the other things it is tracking correctly but distance stays 0km. How can I fix this?

Hi everybody ! Thank you for your messages, efforts and feedback.

Our team is aware of the situation and is working on a solution to it.

Many users have now confirmed that they were able to fix it by entering the stride length themselves. It's worth a try until our team has worked on the solution.
You can find instructions for this here:Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

Please follow this thread where all updates will be posted. Distance appears as 0 after sync

Hello @BSPIER & @IngaH24

We've seen several users report that their Fitbits stopped tracking distance. As mentioned, the team is aware of the issue.

One user noticed that their device started tracking distance again when they disabled automatic stride length and they manually set a stride length. Several other users have reported that this workaround worked for them. If you would like to try this workaround, this help article has the steps on how to manually set your stride length in the Fitbit app (<-- click link).

Hopefully, it won't take too long to fix the issue so we won't have to use a workaround.

Hello RiekoC,

Thanks for the reply. I have already tested this alternative as I saw the thread you mentioned as well. Unfortunately it didn't not work for me, as the distance was still completely off (over 5000 steps, stride length 65 cm, and distance was provided as 200 m).

Hello @IngaH24

Sorry to see that the workaround wasn't successful in getting your distance back to tracking.

Out of curiosity, are you an Android or iOS user?

Since 7/20/24, my Charge 6 has not been tracking my distance correctly. I have:

  • restarted my watch
  • uninstalled, then reinstalled the app
  • turned my phone for more than 2 mins
  • set the stride length manually

It's still not working. I tried to start a walk exercise and it said my pace was zero, and my distance was zero. Yesterday, when i was looking through my past days to see the data, i noticed it was duplicating my current day's data. so the app wasnt even working right.

Update: i was able to correctly set my stride length. i had it wrong before which is why i was still getting bad data. this site was very helpful. https://www.omnicalculator.com/sports/stride-length i just used my past days data to be able to calculate.

so the distance is working with the manual stride length, still however would like it to work automatically!

I'm an Android user, since last Thursday distance tracking is not working.

Was there any update or how it can go wrong?

Hello,

I am having a similar issue. I completed the most recent update on Sunday, July 21, 2024, and now, my Charge 6 keeps track of my steps but not my mileage. For example, I currently have 7,298 steps, but 0.0 miles recorded. Has anyone else noticed a similar issue or figured out how to fix the problem?

I’m on iOS and this started happening after a recent Fitbit software update.

Hi, absolutely same problem (Charge 6 doesn’t track distance) since Sunday 21 July. I think that it happened after last app update (Android). Nothing helped so far (reset, trying to find some software/firmware update). Hope to fix it soon or compensate somehow. I do not intend to pay subscription for non-working app.

iOS. i was able to add the manual stride length and that has seemed to work now. however, when i make progress on my watch, and then go to sync to the app, the app is now resetting my watch to previous data i had before the sync - basically deleting any progress i made. very frustrating

agreed. if this doesn't get fixed by the end of the week or so, i will be exploring other options. silly to pay for a service that doesn't work

Yeah. Updated yesterday morning, Monday 22nd, and zero distance tracking since. Clearly a software bug

Also having the same issue unfortunately. Disappointed with Charge 6 as Charge 4 had altimeter. Now can't see elevation or distance.
