Charge 6 double tap to home not working

I've received my new Charge 6.

The function double tap to get back home is not working. Magnify 3 taps are working, so taps are detected.

I've updated the Charge 6.

I restarted it.

I also followed the steps:

Press the button on the charger's flat end three times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then, wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

There seems to be a misunderstanding here.

The feature to double tap the screen on the Charge 6 is only to wake up the display or to unlock the Charge 6 after Water Lock was used. 

To return to the main screen, just press the button once or swipe left or right on the display.

Why was this feature removed?

It is available on a Charge 5 and is so much better than some random button on the side.

Most of us on these forums are users like you. The Moderators are employees, but their role is supporting these forums. None of us know why the decision to change how double tap works on the Charge 6 was made. Those people don't monitor the forums.

You can use the Feedback option in the Fitbit app to submit your thoughts about the change

• Tap your picture/avatar in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
• Select Feedback in the menu that opens
• Complete the prompts and submit

The team receives the feedback reports for review.
