Charge 6 experienced numerous malfunctions and now won’t connect with phone after clearing user data

ANSWERED

This morning my Charge 6 alarm failed to go off and showed set for the following morning. Wouldn’t indicate charging when I connected to charger, but showed battery at 97%. By noon it was showing me at over 20k steps and over 3k calories burned even though I’d moved less than on a normal work day. Wouldn’t sync with phone though my phone showed it connected by Bluetooth. Charge 6 wouldn’t restart; tried restarting phone, turning off and on Bluetooth. Finally opted to clear user data thinking maybe it was stuck on the previous day. In the process the display went from 97% battery to 6%. Later I put it on the charger and it connected and charged to 100%. Now it alternates between an icon of a phone with the date January 18, 2025 (not in that format, this platform wouldn’t let me enter it as it appears on the watch) below it and text saying to download the Fitbit mobile app (I already have). My phone can’t find it via Bluetooth and the watch won’t otherwise function. It’s not that old, I purchased it this spring.

Hi! Apparently doing “delete user data” is the same as doing a factory reset, and this is what I did and which resulted in me not being able to get my phone and watch to communicate at all. I talked to support/customer service, and they had me remove my charge 6 from my Bluetooth entirely before initiating the setup process through the Fitbit app. This worked - my phone and watch paired and completed the setup process through. My watch seems to be working normally again.

Hello @NewtMT

What phone are you using with your Charge 6?

I've noticed multiple iOS users reporting problems with syncing their Fitbits to their iPhones.

Mine won’t charge, is displaying yesterday’s data and adding today’s to it and won’t sync data to the app. I have tried everything I could find. You can’t reboot the phone because it doesn’t recognize the charge now.

Hi! I’m using an iPhone 15. I did end up calling support, and the the step I hadn’t tried was selecting “forget device” (or equivalent language) in my Bluetooth settings. Once I did this I was able to complete the setup process.

My watch seems to be working normally again.

Thank you. I found a reboot on the watch and that cleaned it up too.
