Charge 6 has stopped vibrating when I receive push notifications

ANSWERED

I've had the Charge 6 for a few weeks now and since the last time I charged it the push notifications no longer vibrate when received by the watch. Emails, texts, calls etc.  Other vibrations work fine - steps, zone minutes - so it's not a problem with the vibration, just the notifications.

I've just charged it again thinking it might reset something but nothing has changed.

I really like the vibrate for notifications feature so will be sending it back if I can't resolve this.

Hello,

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my fitbit app, restarted my device, ensured that DND and Sleep mode are off, but I am still not getting the vibration notification for calls, texts, emails.  I only get it for excercise.

Thank you

Hi @DjariasThanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well.

I'm sorry to hear your notifications for calls, texts & emails are not being received. I appreciate the effort you have already made by reinstalling the app and checking settings.

Have you already setup your notifications in the Fitbit app ? Make sure to follow the steps listed in our help article How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? below the section "How do I set up notifications?"

I hope these instructions will be helpful.

Hello,

My phone and fitbit have been paired since Christmas. I have not changed
any settings on my phone or the app. I was receiving notifications just
fine until a few days ago.

I am having the same issues. It was working fine, now all of a sudden the vibrate has stopped for notifications. I repaired my device and watched, I restarted, checked Bluetooth, dnd and sleep mode are both off. What else???

I use my Charge 6 with Apple, and wouldn’t you know I found my messages were actually open on my Mac. As soon as I quit out of the Messages app, my vibration notifications returned for texts. I also disabled the app on the computer from receiving for my cell number.

Thank you! This worked for me too. I'd trawled through all my app and phone settings and would never have hit on this without your help ❤️

I have a one month old Charge 6 which has stopped vibrating for calls and texts whichapp makes it useless to me.  I've restarted the device three times, restarted my Android phone numerous times, turned Bluetooth off and back on and still no vibration.  The Fitbit app says it is paired to my phone but it doesn't seem to be picking up anything

I was able to connect with someone from support. He had me disconnect the
device from my phone and then reconnect it. That resolved the issue for me
and it now vibrates when I receive a notification.

Did not work for me. The alarms vibrate, but nothing else. I don't get move reminders, I don't get text message reminders, nothing.

Hello @Djoinez

My apologies if you've already reviewed this information. This help page (<-- click) has the recommended troubleshooting to try when your Fitbit device isn't getting notifications from your phone.

Have you had a chance to confirm that you still have Whatsapp selected for calls & texts?

Hello @Sujenwujen

My apologies to you if you have already reviewed the help page that I linked in my reply above. That page has the information for getting notifications from apps on your phone.

You mention that you're not getting the reminders to move. That's a push notification and is set up differently than the phone app notifications. Here are the steps in case you need them:

  • Tap your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap Fitbit settings in the menu that opens
  • Tap Push notifications on the page that opens
  • Confirm that the push notifications that you want are enabled

If the push notifications are enabled, but you're not getting notified, try:

  • Turn off the push notifications
  • Do a manual sync.
  • Go back to the Push notifications page and turn the notifications back on
  • Do a manual sync
  • Restart your Charge 6

Please let us know if this worked for you. If it didn't, let us know what other troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far.
