Charge 6 heart rate spikes to 212 while sitting and quickly drops. Happened twice.

Has anyone had an issue with the charge 6 spiking while sitting?  I wore a chest monitor for a week and the Fitbit was between 30 and 40 points higher than the chest monitor while walking briskly.  However the spike when sitting wasn’t being monitored while I had the chest monitor.

All the time. Laying in bed this morning it alerted me to 150 BPM when I was super relaxed. It does it often. My charge 5 never did that.

It's very strange   and unnerving   you would think that if your heart rate was going all of a sudden up to 150 or 200 that you would notice it    there must be some glitch

Yesterday while watching TV I noticed the heart rate on my charge 6 was increasing rapidly and went to 212 before starting to come back down. I would imagine you would feel your heart pounding if it was really at 212, I felt normal, but it does cause anxiety especially for anyone who know they have heart issues.

I wish Google would publicly acknowledge that this is a known error.

We wouldn't all be getting the same numbers of 203 or 212 if this was real. The devices are faulty but they won't admit it, presumably because they don't want to 'just in case' someone ignores it and genuinely has a heart issue.

I proved that my device was faulty and that these spikes were not happening. It is likely yours is too if you could not feel anything.

My summer was ruined by this, I bought the C6 back in June/July and spent the summer in a panic having various heart tests and Dr appointments. My old devices never did anything like this, you would think new technology would be more accurate not less!

I agree    it happens randomly, and I would think if the heart was pounding at 212 you would feel it      and your resting hr would not always be normal    it would be nice if they acknowledged it to give people some comfort

People are reporting that number 212 which is what I saw. I also see high numbers when just walking. I saw a cardiologist as it scared me. I am 74 . They had me wear a chest monitor and gave me other tests. The highest score was 124 in that chest monitor during exercise. My Fitbit recorded higher numbers.
However, my experience proved to me Fitbit wasn’t recording accurate numbers for me. I am reluctant to tell all users the numbers are wrong on Fitbit in case some user has a real problem.

Yes, concerning for sure when we are up in age. I have had tachycardia most
of my life but never anything weird like 212. Highest I get is 110 and it
quickly goes away. No irregular heart rhythms, etc. I've stopped using the
Charge 6 and gone back to my Charge 5 and I've never had such a thing. I
think FitBit won't admit they have a bug or defective units they issued. I
have also purchased the Google Pixel Watch and it tracks very well. But the
battery life is garbage. Just need to charge daily and wear it at night
when I want to track my sleep habits. I hope everyone finds a working
device because the Charge 6 isn't working.
