Charge 6 high heart rate

Sometimes when I take my Charge 6 off the charger and put it on I get a fairly high heart rate reading when it starts recording. It drops fairly quickly but was just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Hello @CookiebakerT

Have you tried restarting your Charge 6 recently? That's the first troubleshooting step that I would try.

Hi @CookiebakerT and @RiekoC, welcome to  the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me give you some details about how your Charge 6 tracks your heart rate. Thanks @RiekoC for your help.

PuerPulse technology uses rapidly flashing green LEDs to detect blood volume changes in wrist capillaries. For this reason, it's a expected behavior that some readings fluctuate right after you put your device on your wrist. However, the reading should normalize after a few seconds.

In addition, you can improve the accuracy of your heart rate data by following the tips listed in our help article How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device > How to improve the accuracy of a heart rate readin...

Thanks! Yes, it’s been restarted. I’m thinking maybe it’s an electrical thing. It seems if I unplug the charger from the wall with the Fitbit attached it does it. Last night I took the Fitbit off of the charger and then unplugged the charger from the wall and it didn’t have a crazy high spike. I’ll continue to try disconnecting it both ways and see what happens.

Not sure because this is sometimes a crazy high spike after unplugging the charger from the wall. It’s the only time that my HR gets that high.

On another note, my Fitbit sometimes buzzes my arm like 4 buzzes in a row. Why would it do that? My screen has not worked in many, many months (it just lights up white when it comes on) so I have no idea if it’s giving me a notification on the screen.
